refund of the total cost of your package, less costs of any antenatal visits made and any childbirth classes attended or that you may wish to attend in the future
-
less than 2 weeks before your due date: no refund
-
cancellation of childbirth classes only: no refund
If, after signing the contract, you plan to have an elective caesarean, you have two options.
1. If you do not require your doula to be with you immediately before and after the birth of your baby, an amended
service is available. Singapore hospital regulations do not permit your doula to support you in theatre during a caesarean. Your doula will
still provide antenatal and postnatal visit(s) included as part of your labour support. She will visit you the day
after your baby is born to assist with breastfeeding and with any parenting questions. If you choose this amended service, you will
receive a refund of $400. You must advise your doula of your decision to schedule a planned caesarean section at least 2 days before your due
date for this amended-service refund to apply, and please note that it is not applicable in the case of a non-elective emergency caesarean. If
you have additionally booked classes but not yet taken these when you inform us of your decision to plan a caesarean
section, and you do not wish to attend the classes, you will be entitled to a further refund.
2. You may also choose to have your doula accompany you in hospital before and/or after your elective caesarean, to
provide support and information. This includes what to expect immediately before and during the caesarean birth, help with relaxation
before the birth, and assistance in making your caesarean a positive experience. She can await you in your postnatal room immediately after
your baby is born, or can wait in the labour ward in case your baby is taken out of theatre, to stay with the baby and take photos if you would
like your partner to remain with you. Your doula can help with breastfeeding, which can take a bit more effort just after a caesarean,
and she can answer questions about speeding recovery and let you know what to expect in the first few days. If you choose this service, the
amended-service refund is not applicable.
