Water can provide relief to a mum during labour if she becomes tired and help her regain her focus.
There are three hospitals in Singapore currently supporting water births, Thomson Medical Centre, Mount Alvernia and National University Hospital (NUH).
At NUH, ParentLink can provide an inflatable tub with a liner to provide a relaxing, safe birth option if you prefer the inflatable tub to their stationary one.
The rental of the tub is $200, and the entire Doula Support Waterbirth Package is $1,595.
It includes 2 week waterbirth tub reservation prior to your guess date, set up and clean up and doula support.
All three hospitals require doula support at waterbirths.
NUH also offers:
- birth stool (thanks to PL!)
- birth ball (likewise)
- light dimmers
- thermastat control in the waterbirth room
- Baby Friendly Accreditation (in process)
The tub can also be rented for homebirths.
