"Do we have to take the classes included in your
labour support (doula) packages? Won't our doula fill us in on what we
need to know? What if we've already taken classes elsewhere?"
Doula support and childbirth classes complement each other. The
discussions you have with your doula build on the foundation of what you
learn in classes. You may lose out if you hope to fit 12-14 hours of classes into
the time your doula spends with you in antenatal visits, or, worse, during labour.
If you have taken classes earlier in this pregnancy, or if you took classes elsewhere during a previous pregnancy, we strongly suggest you
complete ParentLink's classes. ParentLink classes are totally different from those offered by any hospital or
other organization. Parents who have taken classes with us after having done others elsewhere
have unanimously reported that even though they assumed they had been prepared before, when they finished
the ParentLink course they were amazed at the new things they learned and how much more confident and engaged they felt.
