First Aid for Parents

Babies, while a handful, are unable to get into too much trouble. Things can change dramatically though once they find their legs!

Anne provides first aid classes especially designed for parents, to help you be prepared for emergency situations that may arise. You can choose between an American Red Cross Certified course, or a shorter non-certified course teaching you the basics.

Certified Red Cross Course

The American Red Cross certification course covers:

how to recognize an emergency
what to do to protect yourself and others
how to activate and use an "Emergency Action Plan"

The First Aid section primarily covers emergency care for:

severe bleeding
fractures
muscle injuries
burns
poisoning
heat exhaustion
cold related illnesses
bites and stings

The CPR section covers the emergency care for:

choking
breathing emergencies
cardiac emergencies

Full American Red Cross certification course in 3 sessions, with each session lasting for 3 hours. Participants in this course, who are able to demonstrate the necessary practical skills and pass the written examination, receive a globally recognised American Red Cross certificate. The first aid certificate is valid for 3 years and the CPR certificate is valid for 1 year. The cost of this extensive detailed course is SGD 250.00 per person.

Non certified Red Cross Course

This course covers the basics of First Aid and CPR as below and also spends time covering fevers, common illnesses in infants and children and infectious diseases in children and infants. This courses draws upon Anne’s extensive paediatric knowledge to answer those "must know" questions.

This 4 hour class can be conducted in 2 sessions, with each session lasting for 2 hours. This course costs SGD 175.00 per person and is suitable for new parents and helpers who do not require an official certification.
