Hypnosis

FAQ

What is Hypnosis? Hypnosis is a heightened state of suggestibility. Simply it means being in a state of mind in which one becomes more suggestible. Once this has been achieved, you will then receive hypnotic suggestions which will enable you to use the power of hypnosis in your life and make the changes you desire.

What Hypnosis Is Not. Hypnosis is not about being asleep, unconscious or being under control. Your subconscious mind will remain awake and you will be fully aware and in control of yourself. You will be able to emerge from Hypnosis at any point of time by just opening your eyes.

What is Hypnotherapy? Hypnotherapy is the applied use of hypnosis. Therapy can be defined as anything that is done to move someone toward health and wholeness. Thus, Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to help you move toward health and wholeness. Hypnotherapy is also used to help you reach goals when nothing else has helped.

Why Use Hypnotherapy? Hypnotherapy will enable access to your subconscious mind, which is where the root cause of your issue/problems lies. Positive hypnotic suggestions given will enable you to make changes/alteration to your subconscious mind and therefore help you eliminate or overcome the barriers to achieving your desires to the changes you want to make.

Survey of Psychotherapy literature by Alfred A. Barrios [American Health Magazine]
Hypnotherapy – 93% recovery after 6 sessions
Psychoanalysis – 38% recovery after 600 sessions
Behavioural Therapy – 72% recovery after 22 sesions

Is Hypnotherapy Safe? Yes, it is a safe and effective method to deal with our daily issues. Changes are made through hypnotic suggestions to our subconscious mind. Remember, you remain fully aware throughout the hypnotherapy session.

Can everyone be hypnotized? It is easy to go into hypnosis and it is a normal state of mind that everyone has already experienced. Normal, everyday hypnosis occurs when you are driving down the road and lose track of time, or when you are focusing on a book or television program and you don't even notice something that is going on around you or when someone calls your name. Anyone of normal intelligence and the willingness to follow instructions can experience hypnosis and use it to improve their lives.

Is Hypnosis Safe? Hypnosis is safe. It is very similar to experiencing a daydream. Usually you will feel relaxed when doing hypnosis. Hypnosis in and of itself is a very pleasant experience. It is a time to let go of the other thoughts of the day and focus on the issues you came to work on. Scientists, medical professionals, psychologists and hypnotherapists have been using hypnosis for over 200 years and no one has ever been hurt by simply going into hypnosis.

How long does a session take and how many sessions will it take to fix my issue? A session will usually last between 1 to 1.5 hours. Depending on the issues that you have as well as the individual, it can take between one to five sessions.
